ACCCQ survey results

Back in March, a survey was sent out to you, our members, in order to get a better understanding of what you are looking for. We would like to thank the more than 20 participants that took time out of their busy schedules to fill in the survey.   Below you will find a summary of the results of this survey.

Regarding clinics, all respondents were unanimous in their desire to follow a clinic specifically related to jumping. This was followed closely by a clinic on dressage and finally on cross-country.

Most also replied that they would be willing to participate in a clinic in either French or in English.

The best time of year for these clinics would be in early spring with a small percentage of members showing interest in a clinic being given at the end of the Eventing season.

According to our members the costs of these clinics should not exceed $100 to $150.

In order of importance, the following criteria were identified in choosing to participate in a clinic:

1)      Who is giving the clinic?

2)      Type of clinic

3)      Cost of the clinic

4)      Location

5)      Participation with or without a horse

Last winter a clinic on the development of our riders was held with great success and most members supported this.

Here are some of the suggestions we received:

-          Hold a cross-country clinic with an experienced and recognized professional. (Done in May at Tandalee Farm with Peter Gray.)

-          Organize a cross-country clinic with either Lorraine Laframboise or Paul Popiel.

-          Organize a clinic on nutrition with an eventing season in mind, and more specifically nutrition on the day of an event.

-          How to properly walk your cross-country courses.

-          Learn in a dressage clinic how tests are scored so that there is a better understanding of what needs to be improved.

-          Hold a cross-country clinic in the Saint-Lazare area.

-          Hold a clinic on the use of different bits.

This survey and its results is a great platform for your board to work on and we thank you for participating.

Should you have any other suggestions, please keep them coming through our web site.
